Boy George Returns $100,000 Icon



A bishop watching a documentary about Boy George recognised an icon looted in 1974 hanging on his wall. Boy George purchased it from a dealer in the 80s and has returned it free of charge. Story from the Guardian here.

Bite Sized Piece of Charles & Diana's Wedding Cake Sells For $380


In a story that has gone around the world - A smidgen of wedding cake was sold on Trade Me for $380 yesterday. It was kept by a Sergeant Technician at Wigram Airbase who 'won' a bite in a draw back in 1981.
An official five-tier wedding cake was made for the Royal wedding in 1981 but there were also twenty-two other cakes distributed among royal staff, which may have included the RNZAF.
In 2008 the lovely piece shown here sold for £1000 in England. Click here to see the Trade Me auction.
